Bhoot Trailer Review – Scary, Interesting, As glossy as a Dharma movie can…

Bhoot Trailer Review - In part One - The haunted ship - An unknown ship reaches the shores of Mumbai and Vicky Kaushal starts investigating about it...

Bhoot Trailer Review is out by upper BALCONY for all you lovely fellas. & this one majorly exceeded my expectations apart from one point…

From the house of Dharma productions – A Karan Johar venture – Bhoot is a movie which they are planning to convert into horror franchise. Hence, they have named it as Bhoot – Part One – The Haunted Ship.

As the trailer shows, an unknown ship reaches the shores of Mumbai and Vicky Kaushal starts investigating about it. One incident leads to another and he starts feeling that something is fishy about this ship. Past records confirms that there are many stories roaming around about this ship being haunted.

Coming to the trailer and its impact, story (probably with ample twists & turns) looks like biggest positive of the movie. Mainly, this trailer looks like a teaser as it hardly reveals anything about the plot which makes it all the more interesting. Few scenes seems scary and actual impact would be understood when it will appear during the movie.

Secondly, VFX is really nice & smooth. It doesn’t look tacky at all which is absolutely must for a good horror movie. & finally, yes we know this one is Dharma production. But, if production values would have been realistic rather than up market, it would have looked more appealing.

Vicky Kaushal is looking true to his part and this one looks like one more appreciable performance by this bundle of talent. Lead actress, Bhumi Pednekar appears in few scenes here & there. Hopefully, she will have substantial role in the movie. Then there is Ashutosh Rana & I feel he will play an important part in solving the mystery of the plot twist.

It has been a long time since we have seen a good INDIAN horror movie. Stree & Golmaal Again were roaring successes but both were from horror comedy genre and not true blue horror movies. Pari by Anushka Sharma was a nice outing. But, Raaz series by Vishesh films was actual successful horror franchise. However, in last installment they also failed and since then there is a huge vacant space for good horror movies in INDIA. Mind you, there is dedicated horror movie audience in the country who have time & again proved it by making The Conjuring & Annabelle movies instant hits. Let us hope that Bhoot series fills that vacant space and keep churning scary enough horror movies on regular basis.
